Rafiki African Festival
A Taste of Africa

A Community Festival is when over 2000 people come together to celebrate their diversity. That is what we experienced at the 10th Annual Rafiki African Festival.

The festival was Honored to host Mayor Danene Sorace and other community leaders. To all our VIP guests, thank you for honoring our invitation.

To all the community members from Lancaster and beyond who came to celebrate Africa together, thank you! We celebrated our diversity that makes all of us unique yet part of each other’s lives; we increased our awareness of the African culture and truly demonstrated what it means to be one big community of rich cultures and heritage.

2018 was the 10th Anniversary of the African Festival in Lancaster, PA. Wow, what a great event! It was a true Taste of African Culture celebrated by the Lancaster community. It was marked with great participation from 22 African Countries and hundreds of local Lancaster County families and community members. The event attracted attendance from neighboring states such as Maryland, Delaware, New York, New Jersey and Ohio. And neighboring cities and counties that included Harrisburg, York, Philadelphia and Reading. Schools and churches in the area attended. It was a great learning experience for children and families. The children’s activities focused on many facts and fun activities about Africa. The scavenger Hunt, face painting and WJTL booth were the most popular.

Thank you to our wonderful and hardworking volunteers. You are a treasurer.

Thank you to our great performers and Emcee, you made the 2018 festival a true 10th Anniversary!
